PRAYER SUPPORT / INTERCESSORS:

The prayers of God's people undergird our work. Your prayers help to open doors that are impossible for us to open by our efforts. They also keep us from straying into areas that would needlessly sap our resources and keep us from fulfilling God's commission to the greatest possible extent. Your prayers also bless the many blind people we serve, supporting their efforts to know Christ, grow in Him and better serve their Lord. Your prayers are vital to our success.
Acts 1:18-19 says: "And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heavens above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.".

There are many things we can (and should) pray straight from the written Word in simple faith. And we can always pray those things with boldness because the Word contains the clear, unchanging will of God. We can ask for and receive provision because the Bible promises God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT:

Volunteers are tangible demonstrations of Christian service. We welcome volunteers who will joins us in our outreach trips to Africa, and in collecting the necessary support materials for our outreaches.

As Christians we are called to share God's love with those around us. Jesus says "Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields are ripening all around us and are ready now for the harvest." John 4:35 NLT.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

The current projects include the following at Umualun Village in Enugu State, Nigeria:-

Evangelism

Fresh Stream purchased a film projector which was used during the successful March 2007 outreach mission to Nigeria where Christian films were shown to the local community and many lives were touched and changed. The film projector was left in the care and use of the local chapter of Fresh Stream to continue with the outreach work in the local and surrounding areas. For these outreaches to be a success, we need to provide financial assistance to the local team estimated at GBP 40.00 per month to cover their expenses.

We are in the process of collecting films and movies with a Christian bias that could be used during the future outreaches in Nigeria. We welcome any kind donations.

Community Development

We are collecting computer equipment including networking accessories to be installed at rural schools in Enugu State, Nigeria.
We request for volunteers to assistance in both software and hardware troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of the computers that have been collected before they are shipped to Nigeria.

We are planning an outreach trip to Nigeria in early 2009 when we shall endeavour to undertake the following community development work:-

1. Paint the village church, currently estimated at GBP 300.00.
2. Improve sanitation by providing toilet facilities around the village, estimated at GBP 2,500.00 per unit.
3. Provide piped water supplies to villagers, estimated at GBP 3,500.00
4. Shipment of the computer equipment to Nigeria so that the container arrives before the outreach trip.
5. Install and commission the computer equipment at the following schools during the outreach trip, viz. Umuaga Central Primary School, Methodist Primary School, Umuaga and Community Secondary School, Udi.
